Based on classical myth this comedic drama explores the complex business of human relationships in a social world. Phonetics professor Henry Higgins tutors the very Cockney Eliza Doolittle, not only in the refinement of speech but in the refinement of her manner. When the end result produces a very ladylike Miss Doolittle, the lessons learned become much more far reaching. With Wellesley College and Olin actors joined by the Boston Theatre community it promises to be a witty evening of theatre.

Adapted by Charles Aidman from the poems of Edgar Lee Masters, this celebration of a small town in Southern Illinois introduces an amazing array of characters. From young lovers, preachers and teachers, to the poor Jewish man buried in the wrong cemetery,
we see life and death in all its guises. Both the sacred and profane sides of life are presented with fetching ballads and the free form verse of Masters. Hailed in its inaugural production as ³an evening of astonishing emotional satisfaction² it will be presented in the

“The events of two summers, the conversations and stories of seven women, the history of a family and their broken and cruel love is remembered, recounted and relived by The Mai’s eldest daughter who fuses past and present, history and lore, into a story as intimate, uniquely disturbing, affectionate and recognizable as all family stories.” Written by one of Ireland’s most accomplished young writers, this story will bring you to laughter and tears almost simultaneously.

One of America’s most beloved plays is brought to vivid life by the WSTC ensemble. Grovers Corners and all its inhabitants play out the story of the endless circle of birth, love and death in a small New Hampshire town at the dawn of the 20th century. Writing in the New Yorker the critic John Lahr wrote “Our Town leaves us with a sense of blessing and the unspoken but palpable command to achieve gratitude in what remains of our days on earth.”

One of Shakespeare’s best known plays and the shortest tradegy. This archetypal tale tells the dangers of the lust for power and the consequences of betrayal. Presented in the spare and elegant style of last year’s hugely successful Hamlet, this troupe is a theatrical tour de force. As seen on the Barstow stage this story unfolds with the powerful language and staging one comes to expect from this extraordinary actingt company.
